Swing Vote tiene mi voto. Es una comedia acerca del evento más improbable en la historia de elecciones presidenciales: El voto decisivo viene a caer en manos del hombre menos interesado en las elecciones: Bud Johnson, quien vive en un pueblito de New Mexico. Kevin Costner tiene el rol principal, junto con Madeline Carroll, quien hace el papel de su hija Molly Johnson.

La historia principal es acerca de un hombre ordinario, quien de un día para otro se vuelve el hombre mas famoso y solicitado en la campaña presidencial, y que debe de una vez por todas enfrentarse a si mismo para poder tomar la decisión mas importante de su vida.

Pero eso no es todo, a mi manera de ver hay otra historia que se teje paralelamente y es la historia de Molly Johnson. Su historia representa la historia de la juventud en la sociedad actual, totalmente abandonada por padres irresponsables, totalmente consumidos en su búsqueda narcisista. Es un comentario social muy acertado y esta película lo representa de una manera palpable.

Swing Vote me pareció una buena película que vale la pena ir a ver.

English Translation

Swing vote has my vote. It is a comedy about the most improbable event in the history of presidential elections. The decisive vote falls in the hands of the man least interested in the elections: Bud Johnson, who lives in a small town in New Mexico. Kevin Costner plays the main character, with Madeline Carroll, who plays his daughter, Molly Johnson.

The main story is about an ordinary man, who from one day to the next becomes the most famous and sought after person in the presidential campaign and has to face himself once and for all in order to make the most important decision of his life.

But that is not all, from my point of view, there is another story that is weaved simultaneously and that is the story of Molly Johnson. Her story represents the story of our youth in our present society, absolutely abandoned by irresponsible parents, totally consumed with their narcissistic pursuits. It is a poignant social commentary that is palpable throughout this movie.

I believe Swing Vote is a movie worth seeing.
